This summer, Kenworth held its second annual parade in Chillicothe, Ohio, and sponsored and participated in two other parades in the Puget Sound area, paying tribute to its 100th anniversary.

The Kenworth Truck Parade in Chillicothe featured more than 50 new, classic and customized Kenworth trucks, including models built in the 1920s and 1930s, a 1976 Bicentennial W900 VIT-200, a 1984 W900B from Australia, as well as Kenworth’s 100th anniversary Signature Edition T680 and Limited Edition W900 trucks.

Drivers from across the U.S. and Canada traveled to Chillicothe to showcase their trucks in the parade. Leading up to the parade, the Kenworth Chillicothe plant held events at its facility for drivers and their families participating in and attending the parade.

To support the local community, the Kenworth Chillicothe plant and the United Way of Ross County teamed up to coordinate a 50/50 raffle and VIP sponsorship during the parade. They raised more than $22,000, which was donated to the United Way of Ross County.

In the Puget Sound region, Kenworth participated in and sponsored the Renton River Days Festival and Kirkland Fourth of July parades. At the Renton River Days festival on July 21-23, the Kenworth Renton plant supported the local community event by handing out giveaways and showcasing a locally built Limited Edition W900L. The weekend highlight was a parade through downtown Renton which featured six Kenworth trucks, including a Signature Edition T680, a prototype fully electric T680, and more.

During the Kirkland Fourth of July parade, more than 30,000 attendees enjoyed the eight Kenworth trucks on display, starting with a 1924 Log Truck all the way up to a 2023 Limited Edition W900L. Kenworth was well-represented as the headline sponsor supported by 115 employee volunteers.
