In 2020, Kenworth announced its first medium- and heavy-duty battery-electric truck models with the introduction of the Class 6 K270E, Class 7 K370E and Class 8 T680E.
The Kenworth K270E and K370E medium-duty electric vehicles utilize high-density battery packs to deliver up to a 200-mile range with fast re-charge in as quick as one hour. Ideal for local pickup, delivery and short-haul operations, the comfortable, quiet K270E and K370E cab offers 3-person seating, easy access, excellent visibility, and touch screen display. Both models possess a tight turning radius, ample horsepower to maintain 40 mph on a 6 percent grade while fully loaded and provides enough torque to start the load from a stop on a 20 percent grade.
The T680E combines superior visibility, maneuverability, and driver comfort with fully integrated, state-of-the-art electric ePowertrain to provide customers with a zero-emissions solution that will help to achieve green program objectives. The Kenworth T680E uses high-density battery packs to deliver an estimated operating range of 150 miles and a rapid 3-hour DC recharge. Leveraging excellent performance, reliability and cab comfort of Kenworth’s T680 on-highway flagship model, the T680E is perfect for port drayage, pickup and delivery, and last-mile logistics applications.
